Most trees in North County are not removed by felling them in one piece — there is a house, a fence, a pool or a power line in the way. Our climbers take a tree down in sections from the top, rigging heavier pieces on ropes and lowering them to the ground so nothing drops where it should not. We remove dead and dying trees, trees with structural cracks or root lifting, trees that have outgrown the space they were planted in, and palms of every height. The wood and brush are chipped and hauled away on our own truck, and the stump can be ground out on the same visit. Cortez Tree Care Inc is a licensed California contractor, License #945074.

Our Process

Free Site Visit

We look at the tree, what is under it and around it, and how we will get it down — then give you a written price before anything is cut.

Protect the Property

Drop zones are set, lawns and hardscape are protected, and anything that could be hit is moved or covered.

Climb, Section and Lower

The tree comes down from the top in manageable pieces, with heavier sections rigged and lowered on ropes.

Chip, Haul and Clean Up

Brush goes through the chipper, wood is hauled, and the yard is raked and blown clean before we leave.
