Yes. Cortez Tree Care Inc is a licensed California contractor, License #945074. You can look the license up on the Contractors State License Board website.

It depends on the size and species of the tree, what is under and around it, and how much access we have. A small tree in an open yard is priced very differently from a tall palm leaning over a roof. What we can promise is a free estimate and a price agreed before any work starts.

Yes. Our regular hours are 8 AM to 5 PM, Monday through Saturday, but emergency calls — a tree on a house, a car, a fence or across a driveway — are answered 24 hours a day, seven days a week. If a tree is touching a power line, call SDG&E first and keep everyone clear.

Yes — we offer a senior citizen discount. Mention it when you call or book your estimate and we'll apply it to the price before any work starts.

Yes, it's a big part of what we do. We handle scheduled trimming, removals, stump grinding and fire prevention for HOA common areas, apartment and condo complexes and commercial properties, with written scopes a board can approve and crews scheduled around residents.

It's clearing the fuel that lets a fire reach a building: dead palm skirts and fronds, ladder fuels under tree canopies, branches over roofs and eaves, and dry brush and dead vegetation. We work to fire marshal notices and insurance inspections, and document the finished work.

Always. Brush is chipped, wood is hauled on our own truck, and the area is raked and blown clean before we leave. If you want to keep the wood chips as mulch or the logs for firewood, just tell us.

We can — stump grinding is quoted separately and can be done on the same visit as the removal. We grind below grade so the spot can be replanted, turfed or paved.

Yes. Palms are a large part of our work across North County: dead fronds and seed pods removed, overgrown skirts cut back, trunks skinned clean, and tall palms removed when they need to come out.
